To be a good fit for the Advanced Machine Operator opportunity, you will have:
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Experience with either thermoforming or extrusion equipment is preferred but not required.
  • The ability to:
    • Grasp and understand the technical knowledge of all equipment.
    • Recognize mechanical and production challenges and implement corrective actions.
    • Read and comprehend blueprints and other written materials.
    • Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • A data orientation and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including identifying problems, gather and organizing information, and generating and evaluating ideas.
  • Basic calculation skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • A strong safety orientation.
  • A track record demonstrating reliability and dependability.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

Depending on your experience and aptitude, you may work in thermoforming (using equipment made by Sencorp, Kiefel or Brown) or extrusion (using equipment by Welex or Davis-Standard). Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Operating thermoforming, extrusion, packaging, and material handling equipment as required in a safe and professional manner.
  • Observing and always following and modeling all safety policies and procedures.
  • Thoroughly understanding the production process as it pertains to thermoforming, extrusion or vacuum to produce the highest quality parts.
  • Monitoring machines or equipment for alarms, indicators, and or unusual sounds to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with leads to diagnose problems or repair machines.
  • Cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Working with other team members to complete tasks and achieve department goals.
  • Accurately completing all administrative paperwork.
  • Leading by example and performs all job duties in accordance with The HC Companies values -- Safety, Integrity, Commitment to Excellence, Teamwork, Service, and Can-Do attitude.
  • Supporting all company policies and procedures including 5S and focused work teams.
  • Performing other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
You will be assigned either to the day shift (6:40 AM to 7 PM) or night shift (6:40 PM to 7 AM) and work in a schedule that rotates with three days on the first week and four days on in the second. We'll also look to you to be flexible in working overtime, holidays, and different shifts as required.
